It is a great pleasure for us to announce the XVIIth meeting of the Avian Immunology Research Group (AIRG), a continuation of successful meetings organized biannually in different locations worldwide.
The AIRG is the world΄s premier meeting where colleagues with shared interests in all areas of avian immunology congregate to hear and discuss the latest developments in science, to make and meet new friends and collaborators and reinforce existing relationships and to partake in the hospitality of the host location.
Progress in science relies heavily on transfer of knowledge and the exchange between people working in the same research areas. Furthermore, the meeting aims to engage with the bigger scientific picture by involving many other fields of avian biology connected to avian immunology. This has been the main motivation for us in organizing the meeting in 2024.
It is our great pleasure to host the XVIIth AIRG meeting at the campus of the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna. We welcome you all and hope you will enjoy the scientific part as well as the social events. Beside a bunch of scientific take home messages, you may keep the historical and cultural fragrance of Vienna in good memory.
